Frequently asked questions

What can our family expect from your approach?

I’m approachable and want you to feel involved in your child’s therapy. I’ll keep you updated after each session, sharing what we’ve worked on and practical ways to support your child. We’ll maintain an open line of communication throughout, so you can ask questions and share what matters to you.

Where do you work?

I am based in North London and work in the following settings:

  • Mainstream schools
  • Special schools
  • Assessment centres
  • Additional resourced provisions
  • Clinic settings
What do your occupational therapy assessments involve?

Every assessment is bespoke and tailored to your child's individual needs, so the process can vary. Generally, an assessment includes:

  • An interview with parents or carers.
  • An interview with the teaching staff who know your child best.
  • Sensory profile questionnaires completed by parents or carers and teaching staff to understand your child's sensory needs at home and school.
  • School-based observations of your child in class and at playtime, where possible.
  • A one-to-one direct assessment with your child, using standardised and non-standardised testing alongside clinical observations informed by Sensory Integration theory.

I take a holistic view of your child's functioning and participation in everyday life, exploring areas such as sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, planning, organisation and daily living skills, as well as play and participation across the school day.

Can you support the EHCP and tribunal process?

I support families through the EHCP and tribunal process with clear, evidence-based reports and specific recommendations for occupational therapy provision. I have successfully supported families in securing occupational therapy provision through the tribunal process, both through written reports and attendance when required.

Anything else I should know?

As a neurodivergent person and a mum of two children, aged five and ten, I bring personal insight, empathy and a realistic understanding of family life. I recognise that every child is different and believe support should be tailored to their individual needs, while remaining practical, manageable and suited to the realities of busy family life.

I’m always thinking about how I can support more children and families beyond individual appointments. I’ve created these resources to make practical support widely accessible, helping more families benefit from my experience wherever they are.
